Italian artist Ivano Vitali caught our eye because of his sustainable knitted garments which are made out of special fibers, created by the man himself. Unlike our grannies, he is not using wool but old newspapers which he turns into balls of yarn without adding glue, coloring or silicone. He started using this technique back in 1974 and even nowadays his works of art seem to be incredible up to date. Vitali was part of the so-called ‘trashion movement’ (fashion made out of trash) long before it even turned into a trend. Funny fact is that he can still give color to his garments without the use of dyes, simply by sorting his papers by color. Although, this was not that simple for him. It took him two years so save enough yellow pages to create a canary-colored dress.

What do you think? Shall we try this at home?
