In our fall/ winter collections, we use a lot of various sorts of wool and organic cotton. Working with excellent materials is one of the reasons our grannies love to participate. The exceptional quality of all yarns makes crafting double fun. The most prominent part of our product range is made of wool. Why? Wool is a natural fiber. Thanks to many amazing features, it has been used for centuries in different industries and designs. Wool has a self-regulating system - its threads pass through odor, perspiration, and moisture. Moreover, it is a stain resistant fabric. Due to this, you don’t need to wash wool products frequently. An occasional airing is sufficient enough. Besides, wool is a durable product as it comes from a pelage of sheep and other animals, and it grows back naturally after being cut. Shorn wool is undamaged wool shorn from a healthy sheep. It is one of the most purer ways to create a wool yarn, as it doesn't require a lot of additional treatments. This wool is thick and slightly twined and, therefore, has a rustic look. Additionally, products made of shorn wool last longer as the fiber is extremely solid. It is also known for efficiently controlling the microclimate of a human body.

Shorn wool products require extra attention and care. The yarns we use are made of 100% pure virgin wool and come from Uruguay. Despite the fact that the wool trade is somewhat obscure, we know that sheep farmers in South America do not use mulesing - cutting of wool-bearing stripes of skin from around the buttocks of a sheep to prevent an infection. Mulesing practice is less common in South America than in other countries as farms are smaller, the climate is cooler, and the local breed of sheep has less deep skin folds than the ones in Australia, for example. Merino is a natural yarn made of merino sheep pelage. Merino is one of the most popular sheep breeds to produce wool. Thanks to many skin folds, this sheep can produce up to five kilos of wool per year. The yarn is delicate, soft and has a slight sheen. Wool of this type doesn't cause itching. Besides, it is known for its temperature regulating quality that makes merino wool garments ideal for any season. The fibers pass through odor, perspiration, and moisture. Due to this, you don’t need to wash merino wool products frequently. An occasional airing is sufficient enough. Another amazing quality of this wool type is that its fibers absorb and hold the color exceptionally well. So the garments stay bright and vivid with no traces of color fading. We use 100% merino wool that comes from Australia. The processing of wool into yarns takes place in Italy.

Our stuffed cotton is made of natural fibers. As with any other natural fabric, a slight discoloration may occur with time and after numerous washings. The outer layer of this yarn is micro-knitted and filled with fluffy nylon. The outer layer can be easily damaged with sharp objects like jewelry, buckles and pets’ claws.

BABY ALPACA It is a natural yarn made of Alpaca's, a camel-like animal that inhabits the Andean mountains, pelage. The first time shorn wool becomes the baby Alpaca yarn. It is incredibly soft and warm. The quality reminds cashmere but with a sheen of silk. The baby Alpaca fibers are very strong yet light-weighted. Moreover, they are anti-allergic, and the thread doesn't pluck. All that makes baby Alpaca garments extra lovely and durable in wear. Our yarns come from Peru. They are 100% organic, fair-trade and are colored with natural pains.
